Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Sirius is 5'9", about 180lbs, slim with good shoulders.

2. How old is he?
Currently, 21.

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
Sirius could slouch professionally, but most of that is in his hips, not his shoulders.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
He exercises daily and is thus pretty fit. No physical problems to speak of.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
Sirius has a sort of unconscious...grace isn't quite the word for it, he's not a ballerina or anything, but he's got a sick amount of charisma and just tends to look good at any given moment that you might be looking at him.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
Aside from the time he was just out of Azkaban and a fugitive, Sirius is universally described as handsome. He is well aware of this fact and milks it for all its worth.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Sirius has the fair skin of many pureblood families, though he is capable of tanning.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
Black, thick, shiny and currently past shoulder length. It's a bit shaggy, and he often ties it back in a low ponytail when working.

9. What color are his eyes?
Grey and "depthless".

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
He's described as having a distinctive barking laugh.

11. What are his chief tension centers?
His shoulders.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
Sirius has an eclectic mix of "normal" and wizardly clothes. He likes jeans, t-shirts and his motorcycle jacket most days, but also has a number of nice Oxford shirts, black trousers, vests and smoking jackets in dark, rich colors for dressing up.

He has quite a fondness for shoes which he REFUSES TO ADMIT OR SPEAK ABOUT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, but his closet contains: 2 pairs of Converse sneakers, one all-black like the ones he gave Terry for Christmas and the other bright red; 2 pairs of black leather motorcycle boots, one for everyday use and one for when he wants to look flashy; 3 pairs of wingtips in black, brown and tan; a pair of red and tan cowboy boots purely because he thinks they're funny; 2 pairs of loafers in black and gray; these ridiculous things, and comfy flannel slippers.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
Sirius could wear a potato sack and look good in it. He only bothers going to a tailor for one or two truly fancy pieces these days, getting by on confidence the fact that he just has a good frame for clothes for most of it.

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
Sirius is not made for normal jobs. Puttering around in his workshop, he wears old jeans and t-shirts that will become increasingly more stained and torn up until someone gets embarassed enough on his behalf to throw them away for him. If he's just staying in, he might keep his pyjama pants, tank top and dressing gown on all day

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Black or navy briefs, and some hideous gag boxer shorts.

1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Sirius's voice is smooth and comfortably male, though on the higher end of the spectrum.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
He and James can get quite loud, but most of the time he speaks in a normal tone, slightly fast, and babbles like he gets paid by the word. He is most definitely an easy talker, very playful and charming in conversation.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
On top of the typical quirky wizarding turns of phrase (Merlin's beard!) he's adopted a few slang terms that don't at all hide a posh London accent. There aren't enough "wotcher"s in the world, pal.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
Sirius actually speaks quite a number of languages, having been tutored through his childhood. He's fluent in English (obviously) and French, can hold a conversation without embarrassing himself in Russian and German, reads Latin and ancient Greek and knows some basic phrases in modern Greek, and could probably figure out what someone was saying in Italian as long as they didn't speak too quickly.

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
Nope, he sticks with English unless he's specifically talking to someone in another language for some purpose.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
He's an excellent conversational improviser, but would be very unhappy if suddenly obliged to address a group.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
El-o-quent! Obviously if he's very flustered, surprised or angry, that will change.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
Sirius often surprises people with how smart he is, under all that talk. He's very clever, well-read, and has an excellent memory, but most of his education is highly specific: while other kids went to movies and read to history and culture extended up to the late Renaissance, and then wizarding subjects. His exposure to modern culture and media didn't begin until his early teens (in the 70s mind you) and is still largely reliant on other people exposing him to movies and TV shows. These "other people" being James and Remus, mostly.

His street-smarts rely almost entirely on his charisma and ability to just roll with things and get other people to find his oddities endearing.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
Sirius is extremely quick-witted and rarely takes time to deliberate (even when he really ought to).

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Very intuitive and idealistic. Sirius believes that he will find a way out of almost any problem or situation that he comes across, and up until The Worst Night Ever there, this had almost always proven true.

4. What kind of education has the character had?
He had tutors basically from the time he was three onward. Tutors for languages and etiquette, for history and literature, for maths, for riding, for flying, for spells (he was allowed to practice with his grandfather's wand), and for fencing: all the things a good little lordling is supposed to know. This certainly gave him a leg-up once he got to Hogwarts, where he learned Charms, Transfiguration, Potions, Ancient Runes, Astronomy, Herbology, more History (of magic), Care of Magical Creatures, a very small amount of Divination, and how to actually be a decent human being.

As far as mechanics goes, he's entirely self-taught. The fact that he is actually good at it is proof that he's a very intelligent and diligent learner.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
Sirius is instinctively good at magic the way Harry was instinctively good at flying. He just gets it, and has excellent instincts when it comes to sensing magic going on around him (though he's so used to magic going on around him that he doesn't really think about this). His particular strengths are Transfiguration and Runes, and he's an expert at crafting enchanted items. (And vehicles.)

He certainly wants to learn more about engineering and mechanics, as applies to motorcycles.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Sirius is moody, cheerful and laid-back. He's the sort of fellow who occasionally needs to get into a fistfight with his friends, but God help the outsider who takes a swing at one of them.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
Sirius is relaxed and enthusiastic. He's pro-active about getting to know the people and places around him. He expects to be liked by everyone he meets, to the point that he can be oblivious to social cues indicating that this might not be the case. If someone doesn't like him, there must be something wrong with them, and once Sirius has decided that, he can get nasty.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
Eh, it depends, but he's probably more likely to act.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight?

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
Sirius loves to laugh. He adores pranks, considers a truly artful pun to be a prank of its own particular kind, still snickers when James says "boobies", and has quite a collection of dirty jokes and riddles. Sarcasm and gallows humor will be met with teasing.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
Sirius doesn't have anything (yet) that needs particular medicating or therapy, but he's certainly narcissistic, has anger management issues and a degree of separation anxiety. If he didn't have such good friends, he would have needed therapy to deal with his family issues.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
1) Getting told off for befriending neighborhood muggle children, 2) Meeting James Potter. (And Remus and Peter.)
3) Discovering Remus's problem and deciding to help.
4) ...An unfortunate prank on Snape that nearly got Remus expelled.
5) Running away from home and living on his own under his own terms.
6) Joining the Order of the Phoenix.
7) Harry's birth and the dawn of true adulthood.

14. What does he fear?
Being like his parents, losing is friends.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
Sirius isn't a long-term planner. He hopes to be around his family of friends forever, and possibly keep doing things with making flying motorcycles.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
That he is a big stupid asshole who no one should be around.

1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
Hahaha, horrible. He hated his mother, who made it clear that he wasn't good enough, not grateful our proud or refined enough, to be worthy of the family. He loved her in a vague, defeated sort of way until he met Mrs. Potter and saw what an actual parent was like. His father wasn't as actively horrible, but he was distant and uninterested in domestic matters.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
He has one younger brother, Regulus. I think he liked Regulus, in a rough, selfish way when they were just boys in the house - Regulus was an introvert, though, much quieter than Sirius, and this translated to more obedient and therefore more desireable in the eyes of his mother, and Regulus soon became The Good Son, spoiling any desire Sirius might have had to spend more time around Little Prince Perfect than necessary. The relationship might have mended had they been in the same House at Hogwarts, but Regulus went into Slytherin, following the larger family's footsteps, and Sirius just went on to ignore the kid as much as possible. They never spoke after he ran away.

It will still hurt a bit, nonetheless to eventually hear that Regulus had become a Death Eater and gotten himself killed serving the Dark Lord.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
His favorite relatives are others who ended up getting disowned by the family: his cousin Andromeda who ran off with a muggle, and his quirky uncle Alphard, who left Sirius all of his assets when he died, allowing the young wizard to move out and live on his own. Tonks, Nymphadora's daughter, is also good people.

Bellatrix, Andromeda's sister, is basically the devil. The rest of them he doesn't really give a tug about.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
Sirius considers the Maruaders his true family. James is the brother he always wanted, and the Potters a family he would have given anything to be a part of in truth as well as in spirit. He took it very hard when they died. Peter was the younger brother he always wanted (even though they're technically the same age), someone who looked up to him who he could help out and be a hero to. Remus is a best friend, the only one he didn't unconsciously file into a 'brother' role. Remus is his barometer of what a good, wise person is supposed to do, and as James drifted away a bit to start a life with Lily, Sirius began depending more on Remus for attention, and the werewolf has been a good influence on him.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
James Potter! They met on the train in to Hogwarts, exchanged some insults, punches and food. When they both got sorted into Gryffindor and Sirius earned his first detention by mooning the Slytherin table, that cemented it.

6. Does he have other close friends?
From home, Remus and Peter were his two other close friends, and he and Lily learned to get along well enough in time.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
Sirius isn't quite as quick to make friends and enemies as he once was, but he's still just as unshakeably loyal once he's decided he likes you, and unrepentantly antagonistic once he doesn't. He also adopts the friendships and enemies of those he considers his friends, particularly James.

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
Single, with nooooo intention of getting married ever.

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
His first crush was a little brown-haired girl who he met at a park near Grimmauld in London when he was very small. She let him kiss her, and then his parents stopped letting him visit the park. He doesn't remember this at all. His latest is Zantanna.

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
Boobs, smile, bottom, laugh. ...In about that order, yes.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?
SNAPE. Bellatrix. Any and all Death Eaters, and we'll lump the Nazis under that category.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?
He's about a 0 until Remus is in the room.

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
Loves it. It feels good and boosts his confidence. Issues involving the previous questin have left him uninterested enough that he's not chasing tail the way he used to. Still, he's had maybe two quickie one-offs since getting back into the city, but hasn't spent the night with anyone.

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
Girls: Boobs, laugh, smile, bottom, confidence, sense of humor. Boys: ...gdi.
Weird bedroom habits: He has a general oral fixation, and really likes kissing. He also thinks its fun when his partner takes charge - Sirius responds well to orders and trains easily.

1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?
I randomly decided he was a Saggitarius, and aside from being way too headstrong and rebellious to do well in higher education, it fits him pretty well.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
The Harry Potter books actively eschew discussing religion in any way (aside from celebrating Christmas) so I'm torn here. I feel like most British wizards would follow an old-fashioned way of doing things and be at least baptized Anglican, and maybe go to mass once a year to keep up appearances. It's really not a thing for Sirius.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
He certainly does! Sirius values kindness, loyalty and bravery, and hates cruelty and lying. He supports fighting for one's belief, but not murder. This has been shaped almost entirely by the Potters and James, with a little extra compassion sprinkled in by Remus. Sirius didn't have much of a moral education, and rejected what his parents tried to instill in him anyway, so he's easier to compromise than others, especially with his temper. He can be horrifically cruel and deceitful if you get him angry enough or threaten his friends.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
He's pretty indiferrent to other people's religion, as long as it doesn't involve sacrificing babies and that sort of stuff.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?
He absolutely irrationally hates Slytherins and has an aversion to people who put on airs. He'll never respect anyone based on title or inheritence and anyone who implies that he should is in for a fun time. The second one he has very good reasons for, the first, not so much.

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
Sirius is used to having money, and to spending without thinking. He's gotten a little better since being disowned, but he's never gone hungry or experienced actual poverty. If he wasn't living at Moonybase, he'd get into trouble.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
Sirius is a member of an old, elite family, one that certainly thinks of itself as wizarding royalty. Having disgraced himself and left that world behind, he's just another cocky young wizard in the world. He loves it.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
Back home, he lives in a small studio apartment in the Little Venice neighborhood of London. It has a table, two chairs, a chest of drawers and a mattress on the floor, and that's it. It's a mess and he loves it. In the City, he lives at Moonybase... and I will assume that he and James no longer share a room, because THE MAN IS MARRIED, MY GOD. Sometimes he think it might be easier if he moved out, but such thoughts are immediately followed by turning into Padfoot, finding wherever Remus is and curling up on his feet.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
Shoes and alcohol.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
Sirius is not really cut out for a normal job. He's kindof made himself into a little magical mechanic, and could probably be pretty happy doing that indefinitely, although he'll probably end up joining a superhero team before long. (Him, Heine and Trauma, can you even imagine?)

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
Fussing with Miranda, fiddling with the brooms, napping in Sanddust, and eating. It's a tough life. Sometimes he broods.

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
He'll eat anything. (They proved it, 4th year.) Sirius tries to show up for dinners when everyone's going to be gathered to talk, because he likes socializing, but most of the time he just eats whenever he happens to be hungry.

Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is his favorite:

1. Color? Dark blue
2. Smell? ....Moony PIE. It's pie. :|
3. Time of day? Evening
4. Season? Fall
5. Book? Anna Karenina
6. Music? the Sex Pistols
7. Place? Hogwarts
8. Substance? Hahaha what? BOOZE. He'd cross it out and write pudding, though, and then cross that out and put BOOZE PUDDING.
9. Plant? I do not associate Sirius with a plant, that's Kurama.

i shall do so! i'm working on gemma's right now c: sneak preview:

1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Gemma is "tall for a girl" of the late-Victorian age, so we're talking 5'5". She has "broad shoulders," which means they're average, and is apparently rather busty (she's had trouble hiding her chest beneath men's clothing in-canon). Otherwise, she has a thin waist and is just average all over.
